Understanding Funds On Your One Card -What Happens?
First – The funds you place on your One Card are not stored off-line on your card. The funds you place on your One Card are done so using the One Card Transaction System. Our Program was purchased through Blackboard Inc. and used at many Universities across the Country. It is built on a secure platform using the same encryption standards required by the Federal Government.
Second – When you first receive your UMB One Card, your account is established when we print your card. Your account is ready for you to use whenever you choose to add funds and transact business. All you have to do is visit one of our secure Value added kiosks ( 2 in the HS/HSL library and one in the Student Center) to add value, and/or check your balance or visit the One Card Office in Suite 207.
Third – When you choose to add “Value “ to your account, your One Card knows to link your card to your account because it matches the number embedded in your One Card magstrip to your account established under your name when you received your “One Card”.
Fourth – If you deposit to your account, the funds remain in your account until you choose to transact a purchase or request a refund from your account.
Fifth - When you choose to make a transaction, the cost of the purchase is deducted from your One Card account in real time. This means the funds are accounted for at the time of the transaction. You can go on-line by visiting the link to “Make a Deposit and Manage my Account” at any time to view all of your deposit transactions, purchases and balances. You can print a copy of your report at any time 24 x 7 from this link.
If you lose your One Card and you have funds on your account –
1/ Go to “Manage my Account” link and turn your card off
2/If you don’t have immediate access to a computer, call our Office immediately and report your card lost or stolen so we can turn your card off.
3/If our Office is closed and you lost your One Card, you call our Office on 410-706-6943 and leave a message. Tell us you lost your card and need the card deactivated. If the card is found, we can turn it back on. If the card isn’t found, we will issue a new card and the old card will deactivate once the new card is printed.
4/If someone uses your One Card for purchase transactions and you report the card lost or stolen, you will not be responsible for any purchases that occur after official notification has been received. We strongly urge due diligence in reporting a lost/stolen card as soon as possible.
5/If our Office is closed and you leave a message or send an email telling us you lost your UMB One Card and please deactivate the card, you won’t be responsible for those funds as long as you have made the effort to contact our Office .
6/ Replacement cards cost $20.00
